Using a Bottle of Water to Improve Your Photos

This simple photo technique can quickly boost the impact in some of your photos.

I’ll sometimes look for opportunities to use reflections: a lake, a pond, a puddle, a shiny tile surface, to add interest to my photo. But what if you don’t have a lake handy, to reflect those nice trees the way you’d like? In the video below, I show you a simple tip that you might use to get some surprising results.

Okay, so that was really a great tip. Especially for us Californians! If the drought goes on, it will be really handy to use when there are no more lakes, rivers, or reservoirs! Hopefully we’ll always have the Ocean!

Thanks Phil! Always a good idea to have water with you anyhow!

Really like this tip, I’ll be trying it! I’ve been out after the rain to take advantage of the reflections, but I’d never have thought of carrying around my own personal lake in my pocket.

Colin, it works “most” of the time as long as you have a flat “non porous” surface.
