Using agile and lightweight photo equipment can be an uplifting experience. Moving around as light as a feather can elevate your creative aspirations to a new level. Probably the reason I was inspired to create this floating image of myself and the video tutorial below …
Ok, so it’s going to take a bit more than just lightweight thinking to get you to float. You’re going to need Photoshop and know a couple tricks to help your images take flight.
It’s a pretty simple process really: Put your camera on a tripod, take one picture of the background, take another of yourself sitting on a stool. Use Photoshop to merge the 2 images and remove the stool. Voila! Levitation!

That looks so cool!
It’s a really fun thing to do. Not very hard with a little practice!
What a cool effect. Photoshop can mess with your mind. There is a free program called GIMP! that can do some of what Photoshop does, at a good price.
Phil, yes, GIMP is pretty cool. I’m planning on doing the same tutorial using GIMP.
Wow! You made that look so easy, Sonny. Like, I could probably do this. 🙂 Thanks for such clear, informative and interesting videos.
Hey Sheryl, you’re most welcome. Thanks!
Thanks for the video, learned alot.
Scott, glad you enjoyed it!
